If you're having trouble pairing, please try the steps below:
Make sure your Bluetooth is turned on in your phone, and that you have an internet connection.
- NOTE: All Android devices running OS 11 or older, must enable Location for Hidrate, in order to pair.
-
This is a requirement in Android 11 or older, in order to connect and communicate with any device using BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy)
-
If this is happening during the set up process, press skip and complete the app set up.
- Go to the the Bottles tab (Bottle icon on the lower right)
- Next to Have a new bottle? click Add Bottle and follow the prompts.
- If someone has already paired the bottle to the app, they will need to first log into the Hidrate app account the bottle is currently paired to, and select Remove Bottle to unpair it from their account first.
If it is still not pairing:
Try completely closing and reopening the app.
If restarting the app doesn't work, switch "Airplane Mode" on for about 10 seconds, then switch Airplane Mode back off and try again.
If the previous steps do not work:
In iOS only, close the app completely. In your phone, go to Settings and click on Bluetooth.
- If you see a device called H2Oxxxxxxx (the x's will be a unique id to your device) under your devices click the blue "i" next to it and forget device. Try adding the bottle again.
- Make sure you are right next to your bottle. When it asks you to place your phone close to the bottle, touch it to the lid.
In Android, close the app completely and restart your phone.
- Try adding the bottle again.
- Make sure you are right next to your bottle. When it asks you to place your phone close to the bottle, touch it to the lid.
If you have tried all of the above, please try resetting your sensor stick.

HidrateSpark 3 (sensor stick located at the bottom):
To reset your sensor, just remove and re-insert the battery:
To reset your sensor, just remove and re-insert the battery:
- Open the battery cover and remove the battery.
- Reinsert the battery, make sure it's in the right way.
- Push the battery into the sensor a little harder to achieve a better power connection.
- Secure the battery cover back on the base of the bottle and screw the D-ring as tightly as possible.
When done properly, the sensor should glow.
- If it did glow, please test to see if the issue is resolved.
- If the sensor didn't glow, the battery may be bad and a quick battery change should correct the problem.
HidrateSpark 2.0 (sensor stick attached to the lid):
To reset your sensor stick, unscrew and then re-screw the sensor stick cap following the steps below:
- Remove the sensor stick from the lid of the bottle.
- If needed, this video shows how to properly remove and re-attach the sensor stick: https://youtu.be/hwqb3DLvrSU
- Make sure there is no water on the sensor stick. Dry it off if you have to.
- Unscrew and then re-screw the sensor stick cap.
- Screw the sensor stick cap down until the triangles line up (or as tight as you're able) to keep the battery pack in place, and ensure a water tight seal.
After re-attaching the sensor stick cap, it should glow/blink twice.
- If the sensor blinks twice, re-attach it to your bottle lid and you should be good to go.
- If the sensor does not blink, a quick battery change should correct the problem.
